In Deep Loving Memory of Douglas Clifton Peeples, who passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2026, at his home in Deerwood, Minnesota, at the age of 82. Douglas was born on December 22nd, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Clifton Wallace Peeples and Berdette E. Kohl.

Douglas graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids and attended the University of Iowa. He remained a lifelong fan of the Hawkeyes.

During his life, he served proudly in the United States Air Force, retiring from service as a Captain. In civilian life, he earned various certificates, worked for Honeywell and later the State of Arizona. Douglas also obtained his 32nd Degree in Freemasonry, having earned both the York Rite and Scottish Rite, along with being a member of the Shriners.

Douglas will be remembered by his family and friends as a quiet, deeply caring, loving man, with a fondness for gnomes and history.

Douglas is survived by his sister, Cheryl (Mel) Zimmerman; his children, Stephanie Peeples, Brooke (Gene) Martiner, Michelle Peeples, Robert “Brian” Peeples, and Blake Peeples; his grandchildren, Camden, Brenna, Skyler (Ryllie), Kevin (Laura), and Eric (Alyssa); his great grandchildren, Grayson, Kaiden, Rylie and Benjamin, Isabella, Aubrey, Kane, Kalani, Kendalynn, and EveryLee; and many cousins and extended family.

Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Linda May Peeples, née Henton.

Douglas’ interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 13th at Baker Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. He will be laid to rest with his wife.
