Edward Joseph Eike, 69, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025. Private Family Services will be held. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is assisting with arrangements.

Edward “Ed” Eike was born on February 12, 1956, in Manchester, Iowa, to Clarence and Anita (Venteicher) Eike. A proud graduate of West Delaware High School, Class of 1974, Ed married the love of his life, Pamela Fox, on March 15, 1975, in Manchester. Together they raised two sons, building a life rooted in family, hard work, and community.

Ed dedicated 30 years to Holtz Construction, eventually becoming the owner in 2000. His craftsmanship shaped the landscape of Delaware County, where he built countless grain bins and hog buildings. After his time in construction, Ed worked in local factories before finding his calling at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. Known affectionately as “Fairground Ed,” he brought his carpentry skills and friendly spirit to every corner of the grounds.

A carpenter by trade and by heart, Ed’s hands built more than structures-they built memories. In his younger years, he enjoyed tug of war competitions in Greeley and cherished life on the family farm where he grew up. He found joy in hosting family gatherings, sharing stories, and creating lasting traditions. Ed will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Ed is survived by his wife, Pam Eike; sons, Barry (Sara) Eike of Manchester, Brandon (Ann) Eike of Stanley, Iowa; grandchildren, Lexi (Blake) and Carley (Damion); and his siblings, Betty Kruse of Greeley, Linda Ruden of Dubuque, Iowa, Marge (Rod) Haro of Dyersville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Anita Eike; and brothers-in-law, Al Kruse and Dennis Ruden.
