Elizabeth "Betty? J. Harbaugh, 75, of Manchester died Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester after a courageous battle with lung and heart disease.
Funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester by Rev. Msgr Ralph Simington. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester with a 4:00 Rosary and 7:30 Scripture Service. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Private inurnment at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery, Manchester will be at a later date.
Betty was born July 13, 1929 in Dyersville, the daughter of Ray and Irene (Brunsmann) Beckmann. She graduated in 1947 from St. Francis Xavier High School in Dyersville. On October 9, 1950 Betty was united in marriage to Ward L. Harbaugh at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville.
Betty was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester, the Catholic Daughters and past-president of St. Mary?s Rosary Society. She worked at Grove?s Pharmacy and Blakesley Drug for twenty-two years and enjoyed every minute of it. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ward Harbaugh of Manchester; a son, Stephen (Jane) Harbaugh of Fort Dodge; two daughters, Diane (Kevin) Jones of Shell Rock and Carol (Paul) Kiernan of Bethesda, MD; a daughter-in-law, Teri Harbaugh of Dunkerton; one sister, Alice (Lefty) Meyers of Dyersville; eleven loving grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Irene Beckmann; a son, David Harbaugh in 1991; one sister, Anita Cross; and two brothers, Albert "Bud? and Leroy "Spreetz? Beckmann.
