Emmanuel Yaw Agyepong-Yeboah, a dedicated scholar, librarian, and beloved family patriarch, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the age of 77.

Early Life and Education
Emmanuel was born in Juaso, Ghana, to the late Godfrey and Sophia Yeboah. Growing up with a deep passion for knowledge, he pursued his secondary education at Abuakwa State College for his O-Levels and later attended the prestigious Prempeh College for his A-Levels.

A Distinguished Career in Library Science
Emmanuel dedicated his life to preserving knowledge and expanding literacy across multiple continents. His professional journey began at the University of Cape Coast, where he served as a librarian from 1972 to 1977. In 1978, his academic excellence earned him a scholarship to study Library Science at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria.

Following his graduation, he was appointed College Librarian for the College of Arts and Science (CAST). He went on to lead the Cataloguing Division of the University Library at the University of Maiduguri. Emmanuel briefly returned to his homeland in 1988, serving the community at the Ghana National Library Service in Accra.

His expertise soon took him internationally once again. In 1989, he accepted an assignment with the Libyan Government to establish and manage a state library facility. By 1990, he joined the Botswana National Library Service, successfully running the cataloguing divisions in Gaborone and Serowe, and later operating as a highly respected library integration consultant.

In 2014, Emmanuel relocated to the United States. Even in retirement, his lifelong passion for library sciences never waned; he generously gave his time as a volunteer at the Cary Public Library in North Carolina. In 2022, he permanently moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to be closer to family.

Family and Legacy
Emmanuel was a man of profound faith, quiet wisdom, and immense devotion to his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Florence Agyepong-Yeboah.

He leaves behind a rich legacy through his children: Evelyn Pinamang Yeboah, Fred Agyepong Yeboah, Jane Ankrah, Geoffrey Kofi Yeboah, and Amma Agyeman-Yeboah.

He was the proud grandfather to Bright Owusu, Ernest Nti Agyemang, Emmanuel Nti Agyemang, Ronan Kwame Roeder, Tyrion Kofi Bergman-Yeboah, Blair Akyediepa Ankrah, Sloane Ahomeka Ankrah, and Hunter Aseda Ankrah.

He is also fondly remembered by his siblings: Mr. Kofi Agyeman (Ghana), Mrs. Rose Palmer/Rose Kyerewaa Yeboah (London), Beatrice Yeboah (Ghana), Grace Nana Easmon/Grace Yeboah (London), and Comfort Yeboah (Italy); his nieces and nephews: Abena, Nana Yaw, Kwabena, George, Olivia, the late Esther Owusu, Georgina, Faustina, Charles, and Amanda-Jayne; as well as an extended network of cousins, colleagues, and friends worldwide.

Services
A traditional open-casket viewing, funeral service, and burial will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, managed by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
