Erma Eileen Akers, 68, a resident of ManorCare Health Services in Cedar Rapids, formerly of Central City and Walker, died there Wednesday, November 7, 2007, following a short illness. Graveside Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Mt. Clark Cemetery in Central City by Rev. Dennis Sackett. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.
Survivors include her sister, Lois (Richard) Yerkes of Walker; her brother, Ernest (Donna) Akers of Epworth; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dora Lea.
Erma was born February 25, 1939, the daughter of Henry and Hazel (Hackert) Akers in Linn County. She attended Central City High School.
