Estella F. Schrader, 93, of 2701 O Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, August 27, 2007, in Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a short battle with cancer. Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Brenda Peconge. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007 at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2007, at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Denver, Iowa by Rev. Sarah Stadler-Ammon.
Survivors include her children, Linda White of Woodward, Larry Schrader of Fayette and Loris Schrader of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Andra Adams, Michelle Grate, Amanda Schrader, Russell Schrader, Lodi Henderson, Charman Vincent and Roger Fields; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Miller of Washington, Edith Paustein of Traer and Juanita Wolfe of Waterloo; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Schrader, of Wilmington, North Carolina; and faithful companion, Lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; sons, LaVerne Schrader and Lyle Schrader; sister, Rosetta Jaschen; and brother, Clifford Bentley.
Estella was born February 5, 1914, in Fairbank, Iowa, the daughter of George and Lydia (Adams) Bentley. On June 20, 1935, she married Edwin Schrader in Waterloo. He died September 12, 1975.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver, Iowa, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
