E. Nadine Faust, 85, of Colesburg and formerly of Earlville, Iowa passed away early Tuesday morning, June 1, 2004 at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Earlville United Parish in Earlville with Rev. Mark Gustafson officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Ethelyn Nadine was born on September 5, 1918 in Maple River, Iowa, the daughter of Roy Fremont and Iva Belle (Clem) Snyder. Nadine graduated from LuVerne High School in LuVerne, Iowa in 1935. On September 18, 1946 Nadine was united in marriage to Gerald E. Faust at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Earlville where Nadine worked as a homemaker and cooked for the Maquoketa Valley schools. She later worked as a bookkeeper for the former Del-Que Farm Service office. The couple retired in Colesburg and traveled to Pharr, Texas for the winter. Gerald died on March 5, 1984.
Nadine was a member of the Colesburg Friends of the Library, Minnehaha Order of Eastern Star, Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, where she served as a state officer, N.A.R.F.E. (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) Chapter #436 of Dubuque and various church organizations. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Nadine is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Rodney) Bacon of Delhi, Frances (Kenneth) Caldwell of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Kurt Bacon of Twentynine Palms, CA and Shana Bacon of Delhi, Sgt. Sean Caldwell of Ft. Bragg, NC and Sgt. Alan Caldwell of Ft. Carson, CO; a brother, Clem Snyder of Ankeny and several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald in 1984; a nephew, LeRoy Snyder; and a grandson, Mark Bacon.
