Eva Jane Hoglan
November 23, 1932 — June 9, 2015
Eva Jane Hoglan, 82, of Independence, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family following a short illness, on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Aileen Stofer, Cheryl Holub (Mick Blackwell), Carol (Gary) Gibbs and Jon (Dawn) Hoglan; grandchildren, Lisa (Shane) Kula, Alex (Holly) Gibbs, Matthew Gibbs, Lucas Gibbs, Caitlyn Hoglan and Garret Hoglan; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Howard “Buzz” (Rozella) Wiegand.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; brother, Arvel “Butch” Wiegand; and sons-in-law, Tony Holub and Kirk Stofer.
Eva Jane was born on November 23, 1932, in Belmond, Iowa, daughter of Ray and Della (Ruka) Wiegand. She married Jack Hoglan on March 5, 1953, at Camp Gordon, Georgia. He passed on May 6, 2009. Eva Jane enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling, traveling, Scrabble and loved her cats, Napper and Dapper.
