Fred Ronald Hedlund

Fred Ronald Hedlund, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at his home. Per Fred’s wishes, there will be no services. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Fred was born July 18, 1947, in Newton, Iowa, the son of Donald and Margerie (Johnson) Hedlund. He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Simmons on July 27, 1968, in Cedar Rapids. Fred enjoyed fishing and hunting for deer and pheasant; especially with his favorite dog, Taffy and his three best buddies, Lammont, Ernie, and his son, Jason. He also enjoyed going to Mikhael’s Restaurant. Fred will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hedlund; sons, Steve Hedlund and Jason (Megan) Hedlund; grandchildren, Breece (Bryce) Roesner, Jaydon Hedlund, Jarred Hedlund and MaKayla Hedlund.
Fred is preceded in death his mother, Marge Jacobs, father, Don Hedlund; brothers, Don Hedlund and Jeff Jacobs; and in-laws, Walt and Odette Simmons.
