George Roger Castek, 84, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away peacefully Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Anchor Bible Church, Center Point. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at the church. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point is assisting the family.

George was born June 10, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Milo and Virginia (Sarchett) Castek. He grew up on their family farm, graduated from Center Point High School and attended Upper Iowa University. On March 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Andrae "Andi" Benion. George was a barber, worked at Collins Radio, FMC/Link Belt, and retired from Penford Products in 2003. He served on the Center Point Fire Department and as an EMT for the ambulance for 14 years and served on the Center Point City Council. George was a faithful member of Anchor Bible Church. Spending time with his family and friends was near and dear to him. He loved summering in Minnesota at Duck Lake. He was an avid fisherman, card player, and golfer.

George is survived by his wife Andi, of 65 years; his daughters, Kim (Ron) Heaverlo, Kelli (Kurt) Chesmore; grandchildren, Nick (Tanya) Heaverlo, Morgan Heaverlo (Spenser), Josie (Nick) Dighton, Max Chesmore; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Stella, Poe, Daphne; brother, David Castek; several nephews and nieces; his Godson, Tom Weyant; and many friends who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Virginia Castek; in-laws, Laurence and Ivadell Benion; brother-in-law, L.D. Benion; sister-in-law, Penny Castek; and Goddaughter, Courtnee Pingero.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family, who will designate them to Anchor Bible Church, Blue Creek Fire Inc., and Center Point Regional Ambulance.
