George R. Ciha, 63, of 2249 C Street SW, Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 15, 2005, in his home, following a long battle with lung cancer. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two sisters, Doris Ciha and Darlene Curtis, both of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving is a good friend, Josh Pope of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edward.
George was born April 12, 1942, the son of George and Emma Louise Mann Ciha, in Iowa City, Iowa. A longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, George was self-employed. He also was a member of the Good News Baptist Church and the CSD Exercise Club.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of George.
