He originally worked in the family business called Cedar Valley Dairy, and the Dairy Bar, then at Sanitary Dairy, Land ‘O’ Lakes, and Swiss Valley Dairy. Following retirement, he kept himself busy by continuing to work at various jobs. George loved, and was an extremely active member of, his church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir, and as a chanter and served on the church board.
In addition to watching the Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes, he loved ballroom dancing and playing bingo. George treasured any family time he could get, and idolized everyone, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved telling stories and singing songs to his grandchildren.
George touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His memory will live on with his family and friends. George is now reunited with many relatives, especially his loving wife.
