George C. Wolf, 82, a resident of Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, formerly of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in the home, following a lengthy illness. Private Graveside Services were held at Linwood Cemetery, with military honors. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Gladwin of Swisher; three grandchildren, Tammy

Chambers and husband Clayton, of Cedar Rapids, Tania Gladwin, and Tegan Gladwin-Myers and husband Matt, both of Swisher; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Chambers and Emmigin Myers; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; a brother, Dick Wolf; a sister, Marie Shank; and a sister, Loretta Curry.

George was born April 28, 1923, in McIntosh, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Margaret (Jorgenson) Wolf. He served with the United States Army during World War II. On November 19, 1947, he was united in marriage to Martha Spicer in Rock Island, Illinois. She died September 12, 1997. George worked for Streb Construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Military honors conducted by American Legion Hanford Post #5.
