Gerald Joseph Rodenkirk

Gerald Joseph Rodenkirk, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 8, 2026. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.

Gerald was born on September 5, 1963, in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Charlotte (Snitker) Rodenkirk. He graduated from LaSalle High School and continued his education at Kirkwood Community College. Gerald honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 1992. After his military service, he was employed as a water treatment operator with the City of Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Rodenkirk of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Joseph (Denise) Rodenkirk, Hazel (Jim) Jacobsen, Mark (Patty) Rodenkirk, Ted (Kelly) Rodenkirk, Mike Rodenkirk, all of Cedar Rapids, Teresa (Pat) Kelsey of Oak Harbor, Washington, and Margaret (Bill) Cronbaugh of Center Point, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Rodenkirk; and his nephew, Matthew Tyler.
