Imogene was born on September 30, 1927, in Urbana, Iowa, to Edward R. and Caroline (Gehring) Brumwell. She married Marvin Keith Adair on May 16, 1948, at St Paul’s Methodist Church chapel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They raised three daughters and lived a loving, blessed life together for 74 years.

Imogene was raised in Solon, Iowa, where she worked at Chansky's Drug Store after school and played basketball. She graduated from high school there in 1945 and then worked for the Bell Telephone Company in Cedar Rapids. She met her future husband through her roommate, Eunice Adair, his sister. She also worked at Rockwell Collins for 19 years. She was a loving wife and mother, and we will miss her sweet smile. She was a faithful and active member of Faith Bible Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, birdwatching, and most of all seeing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Doug) Deardorff, Denise (Robert) Skeen, and Debra (John) Kuhn. Five grandchildren, Amy (Clark) Bishop, Aaron (Anna) Deardorff, Jeff (Michelle) Skeen, Luke (Katie) Skeen, and Kim (Caleb) Anderson, her sister Dorothy Kidwell, and her brother-in-law Wayne Adair. Eleven great-grandchildren, Mya, Cadence, Dominic (Tori), Peyton, Logan, Bryson, Parker, Raelin, Kael, Azylin, Izabel, and Nayeli, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Marvin in 2022, her brothers, Vearl, Harley, Norman, and Vernon Brumwell.
