Glenn Alan Bohnenkamp, 48, of Marion, died Monday, January 10, 2011, in Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation: 10 a.m. until service time, Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the Faith Bible Church, 95 South Mentzer Rd., Robins. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Saturday followed by lunch at the church. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Glenn is survived by his mother, Rose Bohnenkamp of Ft. Madison, Iowa; brothers, Mike (Cheryl Reich) Bohnenkamp of Woodward, and Neal (Anne) Bohnenkamp of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Audrey (Mark) Graver of Lisbon; nephews, Andrew Bohnenkamp, Benjamin Atkins, and Samuel Bohnenkamp; nieces, Christina Atkins and Rachel Bohnenkamp; stepniece, Nicole Graver; and stepnephew, Levi Graver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore (Ted) Bohnenkamp.
Glenn was born July 7, 1962, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Rose (Schieferdecker) Bohnenkamp. He graduated from Aquinas High School in Ft. Madision, Iowa, in 1980, and St. Ambrose in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He served in the United States Navy for four years and then held a variety of jobs in Lincoln, Nebraska, and the Cedar Rapids area. He enjoyed listening to classic rock ‘n’ roll and Christian music. Glenn also enjoyed watching movies, day trips in his car, bible study, and had a love for trains. Most of all, he loved spending time with relatives and friends where his incredible trivia knowledge and memory amazed all. Glenn was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.
