Grace "Evelyn?Aldrich, 92, a resident of Linn Manor in Marion, formerly of Coggon, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Mercy Medical Center, following complications of a stroke. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at United Parish Church in Coggon, by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Burial: Coggon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Central City and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Survivors include a son, Ron (Phyllis) Aldrich of Columbia, South Carolina; two daughters, Paula (Rich) Foye of Coggon and Maretta (Jerry) Zumbrunnen of Marion; two sisters, Olive Yokum of Cedar Falls and Dora Dighton Daut of Ramona, California; and a brother, Charles Baldwin of New Boston, Illinois.

Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob; a grandson, Troy Aldrich; brothers, Alfred, Eugene, Leon and Roger Baldwin; and a sister, Viola Bacon Collins.

She was born the daughter of George and Etta (Roberts) Baldwin on April 30, 1914, in Garvin, Minnesota. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1932. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. "Bob? Aldrich on February 8, 1939, in Manchestser. She and her husband farmed in and around the Coggon area for most of their lives. He died April 2, 2003. Evelyn was a member of United Parish Church in Coggon.

Evelyn enjoyed playing cards, watching the Cubs, and wintered in Arizona, where she and Bob attended spring training for over twenty years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established in Evelyn?s memory.
