Gregory A. Alderson, 48, of 880 Valleyview Drive, died, Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at home, following a long illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Strawberry Point Cemetery, Strawberry Point.
Survivors include four daughters, Stephanie, Jennifer, Cassandra, and Jessica Alderson of Vinton; his mother, Sharon Alderson of Marion; two brothers, Mark Alderson and wife, Monica of Cedar Rapids, and Jeff Alderson and wife, Glenda of Walker; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Alderson.
Gregory was born January 4, 1959, the son of Ronald and Sharon (Sargent) Alderson , in Manchester. He attended Kirkwood Community College. Gregory served in the U.S. Army from 1982 ?" 1984. He worked as a pressman for the Fischer Group.
A memorial fund has been established in Gregory’s name.
Gregory’s hobbies included a passion for cooking, fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting.
Gregory was a very loving father and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
