Harold Ohrt, 88, of Walker, Iowa, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, in his home following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker, Iowa, by the Rev. Al Milligan. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Campton Cemetery, Lamont, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife Velma; three sons, Ronald (Julie) Ohrt of Overland Park, Kansas, Philip (Carole) Priest of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Timothy (Faye) Priest of Twisp, Washington; a daughter, Verala (Joe) Booth of Riverside, Washington; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Zelda (Merle) Koser of Coggon and Ruth (Jim) Walker of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Margaret Sheffler; and two brothers, Donald Ohrt and Robert Ohrt.
On April 24, 1918, in Eagle Center, Iowa, Harold was born the son of Herman and Leta (Wright) Ohrt. On April 15, 1961, Harold was united in marriage to Velma (Pagel) Priest in Nashua, Iowa. Harold farmed for 60 years.
