Harold S. “Pappy” Sejkora, 89, of Marion, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at his home. Celebration of Life: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. H. Burr Bryant, with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Jean; children, Denny (Shari) Sejkora of Marion, Gary (Pam) Sejkora of Dubuque, and Pat Akers of Marion; 5 grandchildren, Sean, Brian, Becky, Ben, and Jason; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Freeman of Tipton.
Harold was born in Walker on December 20, 1920, the son of L. Stanley and Clara M. (Zabokrtsky) Sejkora. He graduated from Marion High School in 1939. On February 8, 1947, Harold was united in marriage to Jean A. Elder in Iowa City. He farmed in the Marion area for over 70 years. Harold’s life was his work on the farm and his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
