Helen Marie Morris, 72, of Delaware died Friday morning, October 1, 2004 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Delhi United Methodist Church in Delhi by Chaplain Jill Mack. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Helen was born the daughter of Russell W. and Anna Mae (Ray) Clendenen on September 28, 1932 in Manchester. She graduated from Oneida High School in 1949. On February 26, 1950 she was united in marriage to Cletus E. Morris at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple lived east of Delhi and moved to Delaware in 1980. Helen worked as a farm wife, sold real estate for Knipp Realty and also was a postal clerk in Delaware.
Helen was a member of the Delhi United Methodist Church. She enjoyed Polka music festivals and playing slot machines. Helen especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by three sons, Larry (Mary) Morris, Garry (Vickie) Morris and Dennis (friend Angela) Morris, all of Delhi; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Amy, Jill, Michael and Adam; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Tjaden and Trevor Michael Pritchard; a brother, Lloyd (Donita) Clendenen of Dubuque; and two sisters, Carol (Merle) Pohlman of Manchester and Marguerite Downs of Dundee.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Russell & Anna Mae Clendenen; her husband Cletus Morris in 2002; four brothers, Elmer, Marvyn, Gilbert and Merle Clendenen; and three sisters, Donna Robinson, Verla Chapman and Judy Moorman.
