Helen Julia Tollefson (Johnson)

Helen J. Tollefson, 93, of Atkins, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, February 15, 2007, in her daughter?s home following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial: St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Hauber of Atkins; four step children, Patricia Olson of Springfield, Oregon, Gail (Fred) Libby of Sacramento, California, Otis (Jane) Tollefson of Decorah and Noel (Dolores) Tollefson of Ely; three grandchildren, Michael Hauber, Jim (Tascha) Hauber and Mary (Frank) Kelly; and two great grandchildren, David Hauber and Ryan Kelly.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto; three brothers; one sister; and a son-in-law, Paul Hauber.
Helen was born January 3, 1914, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Ole and Josephine (Anderson) Johnson. On December 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Otto Tollefson. He died July 9, 1972. She was a Registered Nurse at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago and a homemaker in Cedar Rapids.
She loved reading, animals, shopping and traveling.
