Helen Alma Tomlinson (Aupperle)

Helen A. Tomlinson, 90, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Friday, December 19, 2008, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Kim Pagel. Friends may call from 10:00 ?" 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Myron (Leah) Tomlinson of Cedar Rapids and Nadine (William) Quinn of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Mindy Quinn, Monte (Destiny) Quinn, Robyn Tomlinson and Abigail Tomlinson.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaMoine; and two sons, Daniel Tomlinson and David Tomlinson.
Helen was born April 1, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mattie (Monson) Aupperle. A lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, Helen married La Moine Tomlinson on April 28, 1946. He died May 23, 1994. For 13 years she worked for Family Service Agency and was a homemaker.
Helen was a member of the New Covenant Bible Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always had a very special bond with her twin sister and both will be greatly missed.
Helen is now in heaven rejoicing with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen’s memory to the Salvation Army, 1000 C Avenue N.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52405.
