Ivan D. Coonrod, 95, of Center Point, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a brief illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, at the Church of Christ, North Center Point Rd., Toddville, by David Graham. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, rural Toddville.
Survivors include his wife, Bernita; a daughter, Marlys Tritle of Albert Lea, Minnesota; two sons, Larry (Betty) of Mesa, Arizona and Don (Barb) of Springville; his stepson, Terry (Sandie) Tull of Center Point; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Virgil.
Ivan was born October 27, 1911, the son of Warren and Jessie (Blackford) Coonrod, in Robins, Iowa. A graduate from Center Point High School, he was united in marriage to Bernita Oliphant Tull on April 13, 1951, in Iowa City, Iowa. Ivan owned and operated Hendryx Motors in Center Point, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Toddville.
