James Alexander “Alex” Padilla, 18, of Manchester, died Monday, August 04, 2008 following a car accident.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2008 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Manchester by Rev. David Weber. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Family will greet friends Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 4:00 ?" 7:00 p.m. at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester where there will be a 7:00 p.m. “Celebration of Life” service. Friends may also call for one hour before service on Friday at the church.
Alex was born August 4, 1990 in Camp Springs, MD, the son of James E. & Caroline M. (Hauschild) Padilla, Jr. He moved to Manchester in March 1992 where he attended West Delaware Schools and graduated in 2008. Alex planned to study automotive mechanics at Hawkeye College this fall.
Alex was a former Boy Scout and an accomplished skateboarder from building skateboards to performing stunts at local skate parks. He also enjoyed working on cars with his friends, installing sound systems, and listening to music.
Alex is survived by his parents, James & Caroline Padilla, Jr. of Manchester; a son, Charles James Padilla-Schultz of Earlville; his siblings, Dawn Padilla of Cedar Rapids and Michael and Jessica Padilla of Manchester; paternal grandparents, James E. (Christina) Padilla, Sr. and Christine M. Wilke of New York; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Alex was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Viola Hauschild.
