James O. Clark, 76, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away suddenly Saturday, June 6, 2015, in Winona, MN. Celebration of Life: 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Cedar Rapids; son, Steve (Susan) Clark and children Rachel and Matt, all of Winona, MN, daughter, Chris (Chuck) Benton and children Forrest and Holli, all of Cedar Falls, Iowa Renee Boland and children, Scott, Beth, Johnny and Rebecca, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gaye Bowman and children, Abigail and Ashley, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Stephanie (Ron) Sheldon and children, Maria, Emily and Andrea ,of Rowley, Iowa; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janaan (Ken) Phillips of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and their two sons, Mike (Amy) Phillips and Rich Phillips and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Boland; and grandson, Scott Boland.
Jim was born on November 14, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Carroll and Iva (Sheppard) Clark. He graduated from Colesburg High School in 1957. Jim worked at Rockwell Collins until his retirement. In 1961, he married Kathleen Probert and they later divorced. On August 26, 1972, Jim married Patricia Boland in Cedar Rapids.
Jim was a devoted husband to his wife Pat, and greatly enjoyed traveling in his camper with her. He was also an avid outdoorsman who hunted and fished and loved attending his families sporting events. For years, one of Jim’s simple pleasures was his morning walks and coffee with friends. Since his retirement Jim volunteered as a driver for Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Bank.
Most of all, Jim was a family man and a gentleman who will be greatly missed.
