James H. King, Jr., 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, August 15, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Kim; mother, Susie (Dan) Shulgin of Cedar Rapids; his children, Stephanie King of Cedar Rapids, Jerimiah (Kati) Hervey of Sigourney, Sarah Hervey of Hedrick and Amber Hervey of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Damien, Payton and Connor; and two sisters, Gerry (Mike) Wallace of Martelle and Christene (Lee) Thornton of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles.
Jim was born April 3, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A graduate from Kennedy High School, he worked as a truck driver and most recently at the 1st Avenue Hy-Vee Deli. Jim enjoyed video games, movies, fishing and riding motorcycles.
