James Anthony Romine, Jr.

James Anthony Romine Jr., known affectionately to family and friends as "Jimmy," aged 65, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on September 10, 2026. In accordance with his wishes, a private graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Urbana, Iowa. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa.

Jimmy was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on September 12, 1960, to James Delmar Romine and Arametta Jane (Maughan) Romine. He grew up in the area, attending Center Point schools before pursuing higher education at the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College, obtaining a degree in electronics.

Following his studies, Jimmy moved to New York, where he enjoyed a fulfilling and successful career with IBM. He later returned home to Center Point, dedicating himself to caring for his father during his illness—a testament to his deep devotion to family.

An avid fan of college football and the Iowa Hawkeyes, Jimmy also cherished the simple pleasures of life. He spent countless hours reading, playing dominos, jigsaw puzzles, and cards with his dad and brother. His gentle nature, intelligent wit, and warm sense of humor brought immense joy to those around him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James, and his mother, Arametta. He is survived by his brother, Joseph (Cherie) Romine of Cedar Rapids.

He will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished. Rest in peace, Jimmy. You were so, so loved, and you will never be forgotten.
