James Garland Vickery, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, December 7, 2012, at Heritage Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial: St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by: Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his siblings, Frances (Harold) Manhart of Cedar Rapids and Marguerite Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; and great-grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Vickery; brothers, Bobby Vickery and Luther Vickery; wife’s, Lois Wilson and Betty Neville.
James was born on March 21, 1930, in Gadsden, Alabama, son of Henry and Pearl (Garland) Vickery.
