Jane F Dorff

Jane Francis Dorff, 91, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 1790 14th Street in Marion, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum in Racine, Wisconsin.

Jane was born on March 30, 1934, in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Florence (Dresen) Stindle. She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. On February 16, 1957, Jane was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” William Dorff at St. John Nepomuk Church in Racine, Wisconsin. Together, they had four children and she dedicated her life to her home and family.

Jane's zest for life was complemented by her strong faith, as she was an active member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she formed meaningful bonds. Her favorite color, yellow, reflected her sunny disposition, illuminating the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. A hallmark of Jane’s life was her talent in the kitchen. She was a prolific cook and accomplished baker, renowned for her delicious lemon bars. Jane loved to garden and found fulfillment tending to her plants and flowers. Jane was also dedicated to maintaining an active lifestyle, frequently visiting the YMCA and attending coffee with her girlfriends. Cherished and known to many as "Nana" or affectionately known as "Nana-Banana”, she spent her days surrounded by those she adored, particularly her grandsons and grandpuppies. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Dick Dorff; children, Rik (Amy) Dorff and Michele (Ted) Stout; and four grandsons, Nicholas and Luke Dorff and Grant and Chase Stout.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Lisa Dorff and Leslie Dorff.
