Janet Ruth Donels

Janet Ruth Donels, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Erickson will officiate. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Janet was born November 24, 1946, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Vina (Gilbreaith) Hahn. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964, and worked at Buresh Rental before working at Gee Grading. Janet was a member of the V.F.W and Moose Lodge.
Janet is survived by her children, Amy (Jeff) Whitaker of South English, Iowa, Troy (Tracy) Donels of Hiawatha; grandchildren, Jared Tandle, Amanda Tandle, Logan Potter, and Taylor Donels; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Dallas, and Carter; and sister, Becky Karr of Cedar Rapids.
She is now joined with her loved ones in heaven, parents, Melvin and Vina; daughter, Heidi Rae Donels; sister, Shirley Hull; niece, Jill Gibson; and special friend, Jerry Stepanek.
