Jason Randall Thein “Jase Moon”, 47, of Jesup, died of a heart attack on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Dyersville, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his parents, Rodney (Rebecca) Thein, and Carol (Moon) Thein; significant other, Meleah Thuesen, and her children, Preston and Tyler; children, Shelby Rohan, Taylor Thein, and Gannon Carpenter-Thein; four grandchildren; grandfather, Frederick Thein; sisters, Tyann Thein, and Heather Thein; one nephew; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Thein.
Jason was born September 28, 1966, in Cedar Rapids and attended Marion High School. He had a great passion for the outdoors and loved spending his time outside, he also enjoyed reading anything he could get his hands on and playing video games. Jason had a full beard that he was very proud of, and was also proud to be an extreme Batman fan.
