Jeffrey Glenn Shaver

Jeffrey Glenn Shaver, age 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. He was born October 5, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Leland and Sue (Sakulin) Shaver. He was a 1981 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After serving eight years in the US Navy, he worked for the US Postal Service for more than 25 years. As an avid Seattle Mariners and Stephen King fan, he could be found watching baseball or shopping on eBay. Life threw Jeff many curveballs, but laughter and love helped him to be the fighter he was until the very end.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Mysty (Tarah); granddaughter, Bradly; brother, Randy; sister, Lisa; and many extended relatives and in-laws.

Family, friends, and others whose lives crossed paths with Jeff's are invited to Jones Park Lodge at 2901 Fruitland Blvd SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404 for his Military Honors to begin at 12 p.m. and a Celebration of Life Luncheon from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026. No formal attire required - wear something comfortable that reminds you of Jeff (i.e. tank top & shorts, Mariners clothes, etc.).

In lieu of flowers, please consider a monetary donation to the Hospice House of Mercy or the American Stroke Association, buy and read a Stephen King book, or attend a professional baseball game.
