Jerry Colleen Beavers, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, September 27, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at the funeral home. Entombment at Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Beavers of Cedar Rapids; sons, Ron Beavers of Cedar Rapids and Mike Beavers of Corydon; daughters, Linda Whitters of Ely, and Peggy Eiben of Central City; sister, Jacqueline Hook of Carlisle; special friend, Dawn Cook of Cedar Rapids; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry was born on June 28, 1937. She married Donald in 1954 in Corydon, Iowa. Jerry was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Shrine Auxiliary. She loved to bowl and garden.
Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Society or the Shriner Hospital.
