Jerry Lee Cameron

Jerry Lee Cameron, 85, of Troy Mills, Iowa passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Troy Mills Cemetery.

Jerry was born on September 18, 1940, in rural Linn County, Iowa, the son of Elmer “DeWitt” and Loretta (Waldschmidt) Cameron. He was united in marriage to Patricia Krueger on October 10, 1959. Jerry worked for the Linn County Road Department for 36 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Coggon, Iowa. Jerry loved his tractorcades and was a life-long Chicago Bears fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR and western movies. Jerry and Patricia wintered in Donna, Texas for 22 years where they formed lasting friendships and created many cherished memories. Jerry was an avid camper with a love of adventure, traveling extensively throughout the US, visiting every state except for Hawaii. Jerry was a very helpful and dedicated family man. He loved family time and attending sporting events and activities. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cameron; daughters, Cindy (Randy) Sherman of Troy Mills, and Diane (Jeff) Pflughaupt of Marion, Iowa; grandchildren, Heidi Sherman, Ty (Allie) Sherman, Austin (Taylor) Pflughaupt, and Trever (Sara) Pflughaupt; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Brecken, Kaden, Jordan, Hank, Caleb and Cooper; and sisters, Anita DeVriese of Marion, Iowa, and JoAnn (Harold) Annis of Troy Mills.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois Davis.
