John L. Clark, 66, of 56 19th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday February 21, 2007, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from cancer. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish, with military honors. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; son, Scott Clark of Cedar Rapids; stepson, Richard Lacy of Cedar Rapids; and sister, Mary Woods of Marion.
Also surviving are his grandson, Cody A. Clark; two stepgrandsons, Jacob Lacy and Ricky Lacy; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law and friend, Ellen Lingo of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Bob; and two sisters, Beverly and Ruth.
John was born May 18, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Rodney and Nellie (Harris) Clark. He worked for Wilson Foods, served in the U.S. Army for 12 years during the Vietnam Conflict, and most recently was a painter for Klingler Painting & Decorating. On June 19, 1993, he married Joyce Lacy in Cedar Rapids.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed gardening, his special pets, Roadie and Stripe.
