John Floyd Dannels, 61, of 3338 57th Street Lane, Center Point, died Monday, October 31, 2005, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a stroke. Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life at the Palo Community Center at 3 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2005. Private family burial at Urbana Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.

Survivors include his wife, Danett; brother-in-law, Wayne Clymer of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Gaye Clymer of Palo; nephew, Tom (Vickie) Clymer; niece, Tammy (John) Edwards; great nephews, Cody and Casey Christensen; maternal aunt, Helen Franks; paternal aunt, Nova Dannels; his cousins, Doris (Jerry) Kubik, Frances (Keith) Wingfield, Iva (Mac) McMullin, Don (Barb) Parbs, Everette (Linda) Parbs, Kay (Ed) Grimm, Gwen (Brian) Heck, Emmette (Laureen) Stark and Jackie (Gary) Hootman.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leo Goodwin; and his cousins, Ivan (Phyllis) Parbs.

John was born February 19, 1944, in Urbana, the son of Maurice Dannels and Vena (Parbs) Goodwin. He was united in marriage on June 13, 1964, to Danett Clymer in Shellsburg.Throughout his lifetime he had been employed by D & S Auto Glass, the City of Urbana, Downing Box, Lefebure and also farmed in the Urbana area. John was a history buff, active in the union and enjoyed politics.
