John Erick Forslund, 59, of 2990 26th Ave., died Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital. Services: 9 a.m. Sunday, November 23, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Del Bear. Visitation will take place from 1-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Warren, Minnesota at a later date.
Survivors include his children, Phillip Forslund and wife Jeannette of Hiawatha, Daniel Forslund and wife Fran of Cedar Rapids and Alyssa Forslund of New York City, New York; a brother, Edmund Forslund and wife Bonnie of Janesville, Wisconsin; a sister, Mary Baumgaertner of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Jakob Forslund, Colton Forslund and Mitchell Ahrendsen; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Paul Baumgaertner; and his best friend, Roonie.
John was born March 31, 1944, the son of Edmund and Marie (Adlis) Forslund in Warren, Minnesota. He was a mechanical engineer at Rockwell until retiring in 2000. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion and the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in John?s memory for his grandchildren.
