John George Machula, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two children, Daniel Machula-Smith of Pocatelo, Idaho, and Linda Reese of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is allso survived by long-time friends, Elbert and Phyllis McMickle of Cedar Rapids, and a special cousin, Annamae Baker of Mt. Vernon.
John was born January 19, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Mary (Lapour) Machula. John worked as a heavy equipment operator.
