Judy A. Evers, 71 of Delhi, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City on Sunday, May 13, 2012 following a brief illness.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi by Rev. John R. Kremer. Visitation will be 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Earlville where there will be a 3:00 pm Scripture Service. Additional visitation one hour before services, Wednesday at the church in Delhi. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Delhi.
Judy was born May 2, 1941 in rural Cascade, the daughter of William and Maximilla (Kraus) Rink. She graduated from Sacred Heart School in Monticello in 1959. On June 29, 1959, Judy was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Evers.
Judy was a teachers aid for the West Delaware Schools in Manchester; worked as a waitress and cook, and taught CCD classes at St. John's for many years. Judy was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi and the American Cancer Society. She was a very religious person in every aspect of her life. She enjoyed talking to her friends and loved her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband, Dick Evers of Delhi; four children, Rick (Kathy Walker) Evers of Anamosa, Patty (Fred) Timmerman of West Des Moines, Cindy (Dave) Weber of Ankeny, and Tammy ( Ryan) Henneberry of Bernard; four grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Chloe and Wes; one brother, Bob (Linda) Rink of Monticello; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Molly) Evers and Joe (Linda) Evers.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dick Rink, Tom Rink, and Billy Rink; a grandson, Andrew Walker Evers; a brother-in-law, Jim Evers; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Shady
