Justin T. Simon

Justin T. Simon, 14, of Marion, died Friday evening, February 14, 2003, in his home. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Rev. John Gossman. Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a wake service will begin at 8 p.m.

Survivors include his parents, Jim and Linda of Marion; his sister, Jamie Simon at home; paternal grandfather, James Simon, Sr. of St. Louis, Missouri; maternal grandparents, William and May Matthews of St. Louis, Missouri; great-grandfather, Daniel McQuitty of St. Louis, Missouri; four uncles, Denis (Colleen) Simon of St. Louis, Missouri, Glen (Cathy) Simon of Dayton, Ohio, and Richard (Sharon) Matthews and William Matthews, both of St. Louis, Missouri; and three aunts, Kathy (Sam) Guccione, Laura Matthews and Mary (John) Ross, all of St. Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy McQuitty; his paternal grandmother, Beverly Simon; and an uncle, Jimmy Matthews.

Justin was born November 22, 1988, the son of James and Linda (Matthews) Simon at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois. Justin was a student at Linn-Mar Middle School in Marion where he was a member of the band and track team and enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 360. Justin loved video games, chatting online with his friends and building with Lego?s.
