Kathleen Hendricks

Kathleen "Kathy? Hendricks, 66, of Central City, died Friday, May 26, 2006, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, after a short illness. Per Kathy?s wishes, her body was cremated and there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Bob; her children, Robert Hendricks Jr. and Kelly Hendricks, both of Central City; three grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher and Morgan; a brother, Donny (Sue) Mountcastle of Salem, Virginia; two sisters, Barbara (Len) Woods of Salem, Virginia, and Sharon Bashem of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Mountcastle; and a sister-in-law, Lea Mountcastle.
Kathy was born July 28, 1939, in Salem, Virginia, to Russell and Thelma (Palmer) Mountcastle. Kathy attended Roanoke Business College and married Robert Hendricks on April 26, 1958, in Salem. Kathy and Bob owned and operated the Country Store in Central City since 1979. She was a member of the National Poet?s Society and was recognized in the National Who?s Who of American Poets.
Kathy was a very happy person who dearly loved life and her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established at City State Bank in Central City in Kathy?s memory.
