Kay Marlene McNeal, 70, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009, at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa, after an extended illness. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. Mike Ellson. Burial: Center Point Cemetery at a later date.
Kay was born February 23, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Edna Louise Chamberlain and Raymond Fredrick Schnell. Kay married Joe McNeal on June 18, 1955, and resided in Center Point. Kay worked for 25 years at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; mother, Edna Mulnix; father, Raymond Schnell; and her brother, Wayne Schnell.
Kay is survived by her three children, her son, Gary, his wife Tammy and their three children, Brittany, Allison and Ryan of Clarinda, Iowa; her daughter, Rennee, husband Tom Schwartz and their two sons, Derek and Michael of Davenport, Iowa, and her son, Larry of Center Point, and his two children Amanda and Trevor. Kay is also survived by her two brothers, Randy Mulnix and Greg Sanders both of Cedar Rapids.
