Kenneth Kirk Block, 56, of 728 Prairie Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long battle with cancer. Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Teri; his daughter, Jonna, at home; his father, Kenneth E. Block of California; his sister, Lydia Pitts of California; and a special cat, Rhubarb.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine; and his grandparents.
Kenneth was born August 4, 1949, the son of Kenneth and Josephine (Hoyne) Block in Honolulu, Hawaii. On October 11, 1986, he was united in marriage to Teri Ellingson in Mason City, Iowa. A graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Kenneth had worked in sales for 35 years. He was a member of the St. Mark?s Lutheran Church and the Antique Auto Clubs. An avid reader, Kenneth enjoyed movies, woodworking, antiquing and loved antique auto restorations.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Kenneth.
