Kenneth “Kenny” H. Yerington, 91, of Coralville, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at The Summit of Coralville. Visitation: Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5 – 7 p.m. with the Trisagion Service to begin at 7 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Divine Liturgy: Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Kenny, as he was lovingly referred to, will be dearly missed. Kenny was born January 12, 1934, in Rochester, Iowa, the son of Robert and Vada (Stewart) Yerington. He graduated from West Liberty High School in 1951 and attended The University of Iowa until he joined the United States Army in 1954, during the Korean War. After his honorable service he finished his finance degree with his BA and MA at The University of Iowa.

Kenny started his career as a junior auditor at Pete, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. for eight years in the Cedar Rapids office. He then went to work in the financial department at a hospital in Davenport, Iowa and retired as the CFO from The University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in 2002. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, Coralville American Legion, and The University of Iowa Alumni.

On July 5, 1980, Kenny was united in marriage to Elpida “Edie” Costalas. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time at the cabin on the Mississippi River. Kenny was devoted to his family and church and dedicated to The University of Iowa.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Yerington of Thornton, Colorado; sisters, Louise Deahr of Madison, Wisconsin, and Linda Palmer of Muscatine, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Dreibelbeis of West Liberty, Iowa; Goddaughter, Jennifer Rieck; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vada Yerington; wife, Elpida “Edie” Yerington; and brothers, Bob and Bill Yerington.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice and everyone at The Summit of Coralville.
