Kerry Kreg Staggs Sr.

Kerry Kreg Staggs Sr., of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Masonic Service: 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with visitation to begin one hour prior.

Kerry was born March 18, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Jesse and Nadine (Sturtz) Staggs. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972 and attended Kirkwood Community College. On October 4, 2004, Kerry was united in marriage to Wendy Hodgden in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He was a past Master of Mizpah Lodge, member of York Rite Bodies, and member of Order of the Eastern Star Malta Chapter. He worked in sales for Combined Insurance for 20+ years. Kerry ran a fundraiser and gathered volunteer Masons to clean up Seminole Valley Farm. He started a Masonic Friends and Family Game Day, was an avid board gamer and enjoyed growing flowers and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Staggs; children Kerry (Diane) Kreg Staggs II, Toby (Kristy) Staggs and Jennifer (Jeff) Yenter; grandchildren, Joscelyn Staggs, Makayla Staggs, Madalyn Staggs, Mallery Staggs, Rachel Minney and Genevieve Minney; siblings, Grant (Joan) Pedigo, Kirby (Lola) Kirchner, LaDonna James and Susie Tritle; and his beloved dog, Mitzi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Pedigo; mother of his children, Carol Farrar; and son-in-law, Bryan Minney.
