Kristen Spratt

Kristen Spratt, 65, (known by her family as Krissie), of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on July 2nd, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, SW Cedar Rapids.

Kris was born on March 27, 1960, in Cedar Rapids to Jack and Marge (Miell) Spratt. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978. Kris was a certified nurse’s aide in her early years and worked at several care facilities in Cedar Rapids.

In her youth, she loved joining friends to roller skate at Skate Country. Kris enjoyed spending time over the years with her extended family for card parties. She was a chocolate and Pepsi lover and truly enjoyed watching classic TV. Kris had a keen memory for birthdays, anniversaries & TV trivia. She also had an extreme love for dogs & often had the pleasure of watching others’ pups. Above all, she loved her mother more than anything.

Krissie is survived by her brothers, Kevin (Laura) Spratt, Kraig Wildcat Spratt, Gary (Debbie) Spratt; sisters, Kellie (Eric) August and Donna Vavroch; eight nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Krissie was preceded in death by her parents and her boyfriend of 18 years, Jeff Newman.
