La Vonna Marti

La Vonna Marti, 75, of Fairfax, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at her home. Visitation: 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Marion. Burial will take place at Campbell Cemetery in Bertram, Iowa.

La Vonna was born on July 29, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Juanita (Blake) Klith. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Marti on August 31, 1972, in Marion, Iowa. A devoted wife of 54 years, La Vonna was a wonderful and loving caregiver who enjoyed scrapbooking and genealogy. She was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Marti of Fairfax, Iowa; children, Michael (Echo) Marti of China, Brian Marti of Kansas City, Missouri, and Christine (Jim) Castellano of Algonquin, Illinois; grandchildren, Steven (Kelly) Marti of Kansas City, Jennifer Chunn and Jessica Chunn both of Memphis, Tennessee, Kenzie Marti of Utah, and Jessie Marti of Pensacola, Florida; great-grandchild, Isabella; siblings, Esther (Tom) Osterkamp, Herman (Chris) Klith, and Thomas Klith, all of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces and nephews.

La Vonna was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to Gospel Light Baptist Church of a charity of the donor’s choice.
