Lawrence E. Joslin, 89, of 1740 Daleview Drive, died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at home, following a long illness. Services: 9:00 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Christine Wagner-Hecht with military honors. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private Inurnment: Prairieburg Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Janice Joslin of Marion and Patricia (Richard) Parrish of Tuscon, Arizona; twin brother, Leonard Joslin of Fairview; brothers, Don and Joe of California; a sister, Mikie Steele of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Julie Kuhlman of Marion, Gina Sorensen of Austin, Texas, Mike Brink of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jason Joslin of Tucson, Arizona, Tom Joslin of England and Joshua Parrish of Phoenix, Arizona; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gary.
Lawrence was born March 26, 1917, the son of Lewis and Josephine (McGowan) Joslin in Anamosa. On February 3, 1940, he married Margaret Drexler in Cedar Rapids. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. Lawrence worked at Wilson?s Meat Packing, retiring after many years.
Lawrence will be remembered for his keen sense of humor. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Lawrence especially adored his grandchildren.
Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post No. 298 of Marion.
