Leo T. Edgerly, 75, of Mt. Vernon, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 24, 2006, in St. Luke?s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Wapsi Post No. 421 of Central City.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; four children, Dennis (Julie) Edgerly of Central City, Curtis (Roxanne) Edgerly of Central City, Craig (Joy) Edgerly of Lisbon and Kristin (George) Robinson of Lisbon; two sisters, Margaret (LeRoy) Holub of Central City and Margery Mysak of Central City; and eleven grandchildren, Amy, Scott, Megan, Alaina, Jackie, Tony, Jordan, Caleb, Brooke, Hunter and Peyton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, James, William, Max, Fay and Merle; and a sister, Elizabeth.
Leo was born September 18, 1930, the son of Brinard and Emma (Lawrence) Edgerly in Linn County. On March 14, 1954, he married Ruth Ann Glass. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After Leo retired from farming he worked as a security guard for sixteen years.
